Mud Volcanoes of Azerbaijan

Welcome again to my Around the World in 50 Experiments sequence. In the present day we’re off to Azerbaijan to study mud volcanoes!

Azerbaijan sits on the banks of the Caspian Sea in Asia. It’s bordered by Russia, Georgia, Armenia and Iran and is house to round 10 million folks.

What’s a mud volcano?

Azerbaijan has plenty of oil and gasoline reserves. Mud volcanoes have shaped above a few of these reserves which belch out gases inflicting eruptions of water, sand, gasoline and oil.
