The Ollie & the Moon tells the story of Ollie, who was scared at night and was afraid to sleep. One night as Ollie was lying on her bed as usual, unable to sleep because she was scared that a monster would come, she heard a voice that said, “You would be surprised”. As Ollie was wondering, where the voice was coming from, and whose voice it was. Later, Ollie discovered, it was the moon’s voice! They both became friends! The moon promised to watch over Ollie at night because there was No Monster!
The moon asked for Ollie’s help too. Because, the moon was scared, that he was not doing a good job with the oceans. Ollie assured the moon that he was doing a good job at making the ocean’s waves and that he should not worry!
Ollie and the moon became good friends and they laughed and told stories every night. They both helped each other sleep! They assured each other that there is no cause to get scared because everything is going to be all right.
The takeaway from the story was that kids should tell their parents or any reliable grown-ups when they are scared or worried and be rest assured that there is no monster anywhere! By talking to their parents, everything would be all right.
